LGBTQIA+ Affirming Therapy

Whether you are struggling with understanding your sexuality, coming out, exploring your identity, or struggling with family acceptance, and support. Or grappling with things like anxiety, depression, self-esteem, and relationship issues, finding a quality therapist who provides a safe and inclusive environment who understands emphasis and respects your unique needs and experiences can be life-changing.

Guiding principles and values

  • Affirming people of all gender identities, gender expressions, and sexual orientations.

  • Using inclusive language for LGBTQIA+ people, including asking for and using a person’s name, pronouns, and parental/familial names and roles.

  • Actively continuing my own education in order to provide the highest quality care.

  • Creating an affirming space for patients to share their sexual orientation and gender identity if they choose, and asking patient permission before documenting this information in their medical records.

  • Avoiding assumptions about sexual orientation, sexual behavior, gender identity, and gender expression.
